Bearings are the engine to your spinner. Forget the “exotic” body button combo, design, or ergonomics. If the bearing slips, locks up, or doesn’t break in, it’s over. That’s why gluing matters.

1. LOCTITE BLUE 243
Medium hold, slow cure. Perfect for first-timers dialing in their press fit. Gives you just enough time to reposition before it locks down. Perfect for beginners.
Full Metal: ✅
Hybrid: ✅
Full Ceramic: ✅
Loctite Blue 243 is the go-to glue for beginners and for good reason. It’s medium strength, forgiving, and gives you time to work. With a slow-setting, 15–20 minute tack time and full 24-hour cure, it’s ideal for press-fitting bearings without panic.
Apply a thin coat to the bearing seat, then press-fit using your preferred tool. You’ll feel it start to harden after 20 minutes, but wait at least 40 minutes before spinning. You’ll reach optimal strength and performance in a full 24 hours.
Patience is your best friend with this one.
Use Isopropyl Alcohol to wipe off the excess and during routine maintenance.
2. LOCTITE RED 271
A step up in grip. Locks in metal and hybrid bearings like a vice. Not ceramic-friendly — but built for commitment.
Full Metal: ✅
Hybrid: ✅
Full Ceramic: ❌
Loctite 271 is your next step up when Blue 243 isn’t cutting it. With a stronger
bond and faster setup, it’s great for full metal or hybrid bearings where a firmer seat is needed.
This is a medium to high strength threadlocker, so use it when you want the bearing to stay put but still be removable with the right bearing tools.
Not recommended for full ceramics it can stress or fracture brittle races during removal.
Apply with care. A little goes a long way, a thin layer around the bearing seat.
Use Isopropyl Alcohol to wipe off the excess, clean, and during routine maintenance.
3. LOCTITE GREEN 609

It most strength you will ever need. Bonds fast, cures hard. Ideal for pros, makers, and those “never again” bearing slips.
Full Metal: ✅
Hybrid: ✅
Full Ceramic: ❌
Loctite Green 609 is the glue you reach for when bearing slippage isn’t an option. Though the bottle says “permanent”, don’t be fooled with the right bearing tool, removal requires a bit more force than the previous two. However, do not expect to re-use your ceramic bearings.
The perks of using this glue is that the dried adhesive can be reused to keep new bearings in place.
It wicks into tight press-fits and sets fast! You’ll be ready to spin in about 6 – 10 minutes, with a full cure in 12 hours. Best suited for full-metal installs where you want serious hold, it can be used for ceramics but don’t expect it to survive removal.
If you’ve had a bearing walk on you mid-spin, this is your fix.
Apply with only a few small dabs on the bearing seat. Press-fit and remove the excess with Isopropyl Alcohol.
